Can I use a verizon wireless phone if I have at&t cingular?

I have at&t and im buying a new phone. I have my SIM card that I can just put into a new phone in order for it to work but will that work if I put it in a phone from a different service?

  1. Unfortunately, you can't put a SIM card in a Verizon phone because it is CDMA technology (no SIM cards). Here soon I hear that you may be able to transfer it to another GSM carrier (Like T-Mobile).


  2. No, the Verizon network uses CDMA Band Phones, which don't require Sim Cards... like AT&T's Network. Sim Cards contain all your account information for you phone, so if you had a sim card, you can switch phones, without even calling up AT&T and telling them you did it. Unlike verzion who has to activate the new phone.
