Can I use a wet suit for this purpose?

Hello everyone!

I am a beginning inventor, and I am considering making an outdoor sports-related suit. I am looking for a strong, tear resistant, and highly mold able material. Basically, I am making something similar to sneaking suits featured in video games such as metal gear solid, splinter cell, and more.

I already have a lot of plans written out, and I have been considering wet suits, because I hear they contour to the body fairly well, and they are great at retaining heat. While I would like the suit to also work in the water, it would be mostly used in woodland areas. That means I need something that is very tear resistant, can be used for both warm and cold environments, and more.

Basically, how good is a wet suit for this application? I know they retain heat very well, and I am planning on modifying it with skin conditioning devices, (heats and chills), however how well does it work in the open air and not the ocean?

  1. i'm a surfer so i use wetsuits in the ocean quite a bit.. but a wetsuit is not the best for running around in, it's thick and shortens the extent of joints, you'd be better off looking at some of the material they make rash guards out of, it's a lot like underarmor material and can be used in water too. it is much thinner for easier manuverability and contains heat fairly well.
