Question:

Can I use a wheel with an emblem on my biz card?

I would like to extend my hobby as a car detailer. I chose to use a wheel/rim in my logo. The wheel I want to use has its brand logo in the center of the wheel. I want to know if I can use this wheel in my logo without the wheel company (ie.e acura, audi, bmw etc) being able to sue me for using their logo. I have gotten a lot of yes's and no's to this question. Does anyone know for certain? I own an acura. If I took a pic of my wheel and wanted to put it on my business card shouldn't I be allowed to do that?

  1. belle,

    Yes and No,

Sorry, I don't want to complicate even more, but let me quick explain.

Probably Marketing would like to have their products advertised and exposed (*under conditions*)

But the legal department could give you hard time.

The emblem is a graphical representation of a brand and is company's property.

In terms of business they need to be careful how people are using their image/brand, etc.

Its understandable once they spend massive budgets to consolidate their image.

    Good luck
