Can I use american phones in Canada?

I really want the LG dare but the only problem is that, its only in America but I'm in Canada :' (

I'm going to America next 2 weeks from now for vacation and i wanted 2 get the lg dare there. So i was wondering if the lg dare can be used in Canada...plz answer!

it all depends who your provider in canada is , and if the phone is unlocked or not . you must be with either rogers or fido and make sure the phone is UNLOCKED meaning it can be used with any service provider.  I hope this helped
