    Maestro card (Mastercard's debit card) is widely accepted in Italy for cash withdrawal at ATMs and for POS payments.

    as far as I know "Maestro" is a sort of credit cart and you can use that everywhere.

    I live in Italy and Maestro card is quite commun here. So you should not have problems.

  4. I used my laser and maestro card a lot in Italy and they are from AIB bank in Ireland. You shouldn't have any problems, but a lot of businesses in Italy only accept cash (even youth hostels and some hotels) so you might need to use ATMs more than anything, but if you are in a big city, try a few if one doesn't work and you'll get one that works with laser. You won't have too many problems, but a credit card is much better if you don't want to have to walk around with cash from ATMs.
