Can I use an external aerial indoors?

Is this a stupid question? or possible to get a better signal?

  1. As long as you have room for it indoors and don't care how it looks (or have it out of the way such as under the bed as you propose) it will work indoors.  I have an "outdoor" antenna in the attic (instead of outside on the roof) and it works well there for both analog and digital TV reception.

    Under the bed might not be the best place for reception (near the ground and surrounded by metal), but it's out of sight there.  It would be better to get it up higher and/or away from metal, but even under the bed, it will probably beat "rabbit ears."

    I think your idea is worth a try.  You're not being stupid, you're being creative!
