I am buying an iPhone in July, and will be visiting France and Italy in September. Will I be able to use it in Europe without having a lot of fees? I really want to take it to access maps easily and stay in touch with family.

  1. Iphone in Europe from 2007 legal...in Russia in 2009,but i already have on 16 gb,lol.

  2. Yes but a friend of mine just got a $800 dollar bill for using an iPhone in Europe, so go to you provider and ask him about how much is what abroad.

  3. Ask your provider, how much you are going to pay depends on the contract that you have.

You might want to add international roaming for the time you are in Europe.

But mostly it is very expensive to use a phone abroad, even more when you use internet on it.

If you can connect to wifi you might have a good chance to use it cheep or free, as there are places with free wifi access.

And whether your phone will work depends on the system you use. In Europe everybody uses GSM, I think the iPhone is on that system too, but I am not completely sure. And even when it does you have to have your 'international' options allowed, something between your provider and you.
