  1. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...please don't....you snake can get parasites and die very easily...just buy some from the pet store

  2. If you really want to you need to first soak the branch in some bleach water and then bake it in the oven until it is dried out.  This will prevent any bugs from getting into your snakes cage.

  3. bad 4 snakey!!!

  4. I wouldn't chance trying such a thing, wood that comes right from the source is often times loaded with parasites and bacteria that aren't so great for captive reptiles. But if your situation's desperate, many pet stores carry cleaning fluid for wood items that kills unwanted bugs and parasites. But I would just buy some driftwood from a local pet store, it's really not that expensive.

  5. NO! They will give your snake mites.

  6. disinfect with a reptile safe disinfectant scrub with hot water

    put in oven for 20min

    next day repeat process

works with branches from British tree's but American ones might be more likely to harboring parasites i dunno

  7. Well you shouldn't use the branches from your yard because it could carry a bunch of things(from the other answers) so it's really bad for the snake, but you could buy the branches from a store. Some store acutally sell them alot cheaper then others. If anything have you tried craigslist, under the pet section there are alot of things that you probably could use for the reptiles.

Some snakes don't even need branches! Like a ball python for example, they don't climb often. Most snakes don't really need it unless you want it for decorations(that's what I do with the branches from Petsmart)

Hope this helps a little bit!
