  1. Water's water, for the most part anyways.

    If it's clean, why not.

  2. Keep in mind that Venus flytraps live in acidic sandy conditions.  If you have the plant in a peat based medium, purified water is probably best unless you can check the pH of the creek water.

If your plant is thriving keep on doing what you've been doing.

  3. In general, no, creek water isn't acceptable to use on Venus Fly Traps.  There are usually lots of dissolved solids and minerals in creek water that will leech into the soil and make your plant sick and eventually kill it.

If you have TDS meter to measure the amount of Total Dissolved Solids in the creek water and it reads less than 100ppm, then you'd be fine to use the water.  If you don't have access to a TDS meter, I wouldn't risk using it.

Your best bet is to buy gallons of distilled water from the store and/or try to catch rain water.  Also, you can use reverse osmosis water, if you have a reverse osmosis unit, but if you don't have one, they are pretty expensive to purchase.

You can read more about watering your venus fly trap, along with tons of other information here:

    Good luck with your plant!

  4. Of course. Unless the water is really, really polluted, it'll be better than treated tap water.
