Can I use different sets of snow chains on the front than back tires?

I have a set of Peerless Cable Chains that I will put on my front tires. I plan on buying another set of Cable Chains manufactured by SCC to put on the back tires. I'm not sure if the link sizes are different. Does it matter?

If I had cables in front and traditional chains on the back, does that matter?

  1. Contact this guy because from what I have read he is very knowledgeable when it comes to snow chains.

  2. No not matter. I used to live in PA and I always used regular chains on rear wheel drive vehicle on the front tires and chains with ice grabbers on the rear.

  3. There is absolutely no problem. But make sure to put the same type of chains in one axle (same type on left and right front - same type on left and right back). Make sure to drive slowly with chains because you can harm your car. You can even use snow blankets (shelled in EU) in front and regular chains on back.
