Can I use front forks from a 81 Suzuki gs550 on a 78?

The forks are different,,,so they're Not a direct interchange.

The Tubes are same diameter,,,so they will fit into the triple clamps.

But axles are different,,,,and who knows if tube width spacing is the same?

It would be a Project,,,and probably easiest if you had entire front end,,,triple clamps and all

Only '77,78,79 are listed as being all the Same
