  1. I have not stayed at hotels in Bermuda but most places their beaches and pools are reserved for guests.  But I have been to Bermuda twice and there is really no need to use hotel beaches and there are great beaches open to the public; like Elbow Beach, Tobacco Bay (if you want to snorkel) and Long Bay beach.  You can get to the beaches very easily by public transportation; but a transportation pass which will allow you to ride the buses and ferry all you want for the number of days that you purchase the pass.  The beaches are all about 30 minutes from about anywhere on the island since its only about 22 miles long.

  2. I rented a scooter for the week and you can just pull up to where ever. Pack a towel and lotion in your basket on the scooter and just go where ever you find it the best.

Be carefull driving. People forget going around steep cliffs on the road that it's on the other side.

  3. All beaches in Bermuda are government owned and are available for public use. Some however have private access, but if you floated up on a boat you are legally allowed to stay!

Be assured where ever you might staying, you will have access to a  beach somewhere! Pools another story, but I have friends that "crash" Grotto Bays pool and beach, just be sure to eat at their tiki bar and no one will care. I use Tobacco Bay beach as my pool, it is AWESOME! I pack a cooler however, concessions and WC available there too.
