Can I use large granite floor tiles, 457 x 457mm, on walls, & whats the best adhesive to use, ready mix/powder

You will need to use a granite mastic or a high grade white thinset with latex/acrylic additive. Make sure you have something like a piece of plywood to to brace tiles in place till mortar has set (overnight) as it never hurts to be safe.
