Question:

Can I use many pictures (up to 8) in one page of scrapbook?

I don't like wasting pictures and want to include many in a page when scrapbooking. I don't see scrapbookers use this many when I check their work online. Is it not good to use many pictures (as many as I can place on the page)?

  1. if they fit on the page :)

  2. Yes, of course you can use as many pictures as you want.

    It's your scrapbook.  :)

Try using some kind of digital software to help you with those pages.  I use photomix to make collages for my scrapbook.  It works great and I can make my page as wild or as elegant as I want and I can add as many pictures as I want to and it still looks great.  Best of all I can see the page before I print it and make changes if needed.

Remember it's your scrapbook and only you know what you want it to look like.  And that is what scrapbooking is all about.

  3. You sure can = it's your scrapbook - however the idea of cutting the pictures makes for a more interesting display.

Also - consider making a flip up block- fold a piece of paper in half - same size as the pictures - one picture on top - and two  on the inside.  You've used 3 pictures in one spot.

It would be better if they all have the same reference = like a day at the zoo - or what ever the theme of the photos are.

Really consider cutting the photos - and adding bits of foam under the photo - this gives a 3D effect and makes another interest to your page.

By varying the size of the photos - and varying the amount of foam under neath - it will look spectacular.  You can have multiple layers.

  4. i prefer to categorise them and make a book for each i.e each family member chooses their favourite or ones with special memories  or a pets one this way you make them more interesting and you have room to add embelishments and captions otherwise it ends up looking like a photo album and not a scrapbook just experiment after all its personal taste and enjoying doing it that matters have fun do your own thing xx

  5. If you cut them right and are using a 12x12 scrapbook you should be able to get them all to fit, you may not be able to use a lot of stickers or embellishments but it is possible I have a pg that has 10 pics on it.

  6. Your scrapbook is yours, and you can design your pages however you like.  I often fill a page with several pictures.  Like you, I really like to showcase an event with many pictures.  Scrapbooking guru Becky Higgins provides many sketches of scrapbook pages using from one picture to twelve pictures.  If you go to www.creatingkeepsakes.com you can find some of her sketches of layouts that use a  multitude of pictures - and are creative looking pages, too!  Good luck!

  7. It's your scrapbook and you can display your photo's any way you like.

I would suggest using maybe one main photo from an event and using additional smaller photo's so you can fit more in without the page looking cramped.

There are heaps of photo programmes that can do this but you might already have the capability available with your printer software?

  8. Umm.....usually u make them smaller by cutting them but maybe thats just what I do.

  9. There are a lot of ways to use a lot of pictures on your pages!  All of these examples are assuming you're using a 12x12 scrapbook, but you can adapt them if you need to.  I always take a ton of pictures, so most of my pages have at least 4 or more pictures on them.

One idea is to cut them all to 4x4, then you can fit up to 9 on a page in a grid-type way, like a tic-tac-toe board.  If you don't have 9 pictures to use, then you can fill some of the squares with either a title, journaling or an embellishment.

Also, I have put about 5 or 6 vertical pictures on a page by trimming them down and putting them side by side across the page hortizontally. I did this for a page I made for someone's wedding book for her pictures of her trying on several different wedding dresses and it looked fabulous.  I used the space on the top and bottom (they were 6 inch tall pics, so I had 3 in. above and below the row of pics) for the title and journaling.

Another page I've made was a "Year in Review" and I used probably 30 or so pictures, I just trimmed them down to just faces or close ups of the images and made a collage out of them and filled the entire page with it and made a 3-dimensional title over the top.  You could do it as a cluster in the middle of the page if you didn't have enough pictures or if you couldn't get them trimmed down small enough.

Depending on how many you're trying to fit, you can do a column of 3-4x4 supporting pictures up the side of the layout and one 4x6 or even 5x7 in the center as the main focus of the layout.

Just make sure you never scrap with originals!  Always have at least a digital back-up or duplicates.  That way you don't have to be afraid of cutting your pictures and you can play around with your ideas until you get it just right!

  10. Yes, of course. It is your book. You can do what you want with it. Using that many pictures per page won't leave you much room for embellishments or journaling. One suggestion would be to find a focus for a page, then make one large picture and several small pictures that related to the big one.

I once made a scrapbook that had many pictures to a page. I had been on a trip to the Antarctica and had several hundred photos. I couldn't bear to leave any out and I didn't want to end up with dozens of scrapbooks.

You scrapbook in a fashion that suits your projects.
