Can I use my 3 gen 4gb iPod nano in my home theater system?

My husband recently ordered a Samsung home theater system, which claims to have an iPod dock. Since my iPod is the little guy, will it fit just the same? I remember the universal dock adapter that came in my kit (unfortunately it got thrown away by accident); is that what I will need to make it work? I'm so lost. Thanks for your help.

the universal dock adapter is only for the apple dock. your ipod will most likely fit in the dock for the home theatre system. i have the same ipod nano, and i got speakers for it with a dock, and it fit, without those dock adapters
