Question:

Can I use my VSP eye insurance twice in a year if my coverage comes from two different people?

I had an exam and got new frames last January, but that's when I was covered by my dad. I'm now covered under my employer with my own plan, so do I qualify for another exam and set of frames before the end of 2008?

  1. Reject the claim by "catching that"...don't think so.  You're covered under two different plans so why wouldn't they cover you?  Likely you're covered under your current plan.  Call them to make sure and don't mention the previous coverage.

  2. my best bet is to go to this website: http://www.mybenefitsplus.com/myoung724

This is a health plan discoount program. This help u save a lot of money on health costs. like your vision. it include the lense and your frames

  3. You should always call your insurer to confirm, but you should be able to do so.

I'm assuming that you've been dropped from your dad's plan and started your own coverage through your own employer, correct?  And that both employers (your dad's and your own)  happen to use VSP as a vision insurance provider?

As long as you weren't dual covered at the same time trying to get benefits from each policy, you should be okay.

The benefit for frames/lenses under your dad's policy is a completely separate benefit from the benefit for frames/lenses under your own employer's policy.

Again, if you want peace of mind before having the services done, I'd recommend a quick call to VSP to confirm.

  4. They are probably going to catch that, and reject your claim.
