Okay I have a Nikon Cool pix L11.

I just need a webcam for stickam.com mostly so I can do a webshow.(:

One very simple way of accomplishing this task is the plug your computer in via FIREWIRE (not usb!) and switching the camcorder mode to video (not video playback or pictures), once that is done you should be set to go, open up your video editing software and choose your device from the video source indicator and you are on your way. If you are planning to do this for a website such as Youtube or Stickcam just follow all the steps I gave you and the site should automatically recognize your camcorder. I hope this helps.


  2. It sure does to me. Just plug the USB in. Then choose as a PC camera. It all done.

  3. Well certain camera models when hooked up to a computer via USB are capable of being used as web cams, I personally do that with my Canon PowerShot a530. However if you're camera does not support broadcasting live into the computer you can still pre-record and then edit which is normally a better idea when doing a web show.
