  1. Provided your car has adequate insurance you can use it in Canada and Vancouver legally for six months although chances of being checked by the police are pretty slim unless you get yourself in an accident or stopped for a traffic infraction.

  2. It depends on your status in Canada. If you are here merely as a visitor, then you can keep your US registration on your vehicle.

If your vehicle is going to remain US registered, you must make sure your insurance policy allows for the vehicle to be out of the US for some period of time as some policies limit time out of country to 30-60 or 90 days. Please check with your insurance policy first.

However, if you have Canadian residency, then you must re-register the vehicle in Canada and buy Canadian insurance et cetera.

If you are a visitor for a year but cannot retain your US insurance then you may have a problem. It is possible that as a visitor you would not be able to register the car in Canada and because it would be out of the US for more than the period your insurance company allows that it may not be able to be driven at all. Check with your insurance company.

  3. I think, im not quite sure, but my uncle used his Van that he brought here from Guam, so im not sure.
