Will dialing 911 when traveling divert me to my local/hometown 911 operators, or will it connect me with the nearest 911 center whereever I am?

  1. It depends what country you're in, If you are in the UK, calling 911 won't get you anywhere, call 999. Different countries have different emergency numbers.

  2. nearest as long as in the us and canada

  3. By the way, I've heard that cell phones are supposed to reserve some energy for a 911 call, even if the battery seems dead.

  4. It will conect you to the nearest 911 office, but only if you are travelling in US or Canada as other countries have different emergency numbers.

Here's a link to all the different emergency number (some countries have more than one)
