Question:

Can I use my parent's credit card?

Okay, I want to know if I (a minor) can use my parent's credit card (with permission, of course). How would the check-out process work if I could use it.

Do I just give it to them and say that it's my mom's or what?

Lots of details please!

Thanks!

  1. You would present it to the merchant -- preferably with some evidence of permission form your parent. Most likely they will accept it, though they are not obligated to. Be prepared to be turned down at some places who don't want to take the chargeback risk. Just sign the charge record and give the receipt to your parent.

  2. No a smart cashier always ask for ID and will not process the transaction when your id doesn't match.

Your parents would have to go with you to approve and sign the ticket.

  3. In ireland they wouldnt allow anybody only the person named on the card to use it.  Plus you have to be over 18 to use any credit card

  4. lucky for me i have my dad's name so i just sign it muahahahaha

  5. yes you can . may be some stupid merchants will ask you whom is it and you can tell its yours and your parents . you just have to sign the receipt .

i use my moms a lot.

  6. oh course i don't see why not as long as you have permission.
