Can I use navy beans instead pinto beans in a mexican dish?

Navy beans is all I have and I really don't want to run to the store.

  1. Sure.  Besides appearance and size most beans taste pretty similar.


  2. all beans are pretty similar in taste/texture.   Unless you're making say, refried beans, I doubt that anyone will notice the substitution.
