I work at client's place where I've to use Outlook web client to connect to my companies exchange server. Is there any way to use full blown thick client instead of thin client which is very frustrating to use.

  1. Absolutely.  The Exchange admins have to set it up, but you can use Outlook Anywhere (formerly RPC over HTTP) to make a remote connection.  Once it's set up on the servers, it's configured in Outlook by going into the Exchange connection properties, then the Connection tab.  For Outlook 2007, there should be a check box to enable Outlook Anywhere, then click the Exchange Proxy Settings button and enter information provided by the Exchange admins.  For Outlook 2003, the names are a little different, but it's still basically the same process.

Of course, if you have a VPN connection back to the main office, you could always do that without having to use Outlook Anywhere.
