Can I use parts from a 1980 chevy caprice on a 1979 caprice?

I have a 1979 chevy caprice classic and I tell you it's hard trying to find parts for it. In parts catalogs they keep skipping the year 1979 and go straight to 1980. I know the body looks the same so can I use the same parts?

Does anyone out there know wher I can get specific 1979 chevy caprice parts from?

this depend,s on which part,s you need & if their engine part,s..would need to know what engine,s are in both car,s...normally most part,s from say...small block v-8 ..are interchangeable ...much depend,s on just how each vehicle was equiped from the factory...if your looking for 79 part,s...try ..year one.

the body style you are talking about was used from 1977 till 1991. all hoods, trunks, doors interchange although they dropped the 2 door caprice in 1986 . all motors interchange and most other parts too. you will find plenty of these cars in junkyards as they made millions of them
