Can I use stock struts with coilovers, if I'm just going to lower about a 1.5-2 inches??

  1. Only if you want the car to ride and handle like c**p.  Your OE struts are probably already pretty well worn anyway and they were designed to work with the stock spring rates.  They are not capable of handling high rate lowering springs.  Since shocks and struts are the single most important thing after tires in determining vehicle handling this is not an area to go cheap.


  2. If you are referring to those Ebay kits that cost less than $100.00, don't bother...it's a waste of money.  Those kits will blow your struts in no time.  A true coil over design strut can be purchased for most vehicles but will usually cost over $1000.00 for a set of 4.
