Can I use the blue buttons on the top of my HP Pavilion laptop with I tunes?

I want to use the pause forward and back buttons on the top of my laptop with I Tunes in the same way as they work with Windows Media Player, is there a way of programming I Tunes to register the buttons?

u have to make your default media player iTunes. Do this by going to start than clicking "set program access and defaults". Than click the bubble that says" non-microsoft, than set the default as itunes.
