Can I use the iphone 3g with out having to switch to AT&T? I have UScellular right now, and I really don't want to switch. But I really want to get an iphone 3g. I heard that its as useful as a brick if you don't have AT&T, and I don't want to s***w mine up, so can any one tell me what you did to get yours to work with out switching?

  1. no you would have to switch to at&t

and i swited from verizon and personally love the iphone.

  2. iPhone is a GSM phone and US Cellular is CDMA network. They are simply incompatible. You've to switch to AT&T or T-Mobile to use the iPhone and go Prepaid but you've to get the phone unlocked. If you need unlocked iPhone, you can mail me or talk with me on Yahoo!

  3. Unfortunately right now, the only US carrier is AT&T and you have to have AT&T for all of the features to work properly. No application has been made yet to unlock the iphone 3G so you can use it on another network. And ATT is going to be the sole provider of the Apple iPhone until like 2011 or 2012. Hope this helps.

  4. no u cant.

  5. No you can't because they haven't fully figured out how to unlock the iPhone 3g so you have to get it activated in the store you're buying it from- which means an apple or at&t store. Don't forget, the only way to do this is with that 2 year contract from...you guessed it...at&t.
