Can I use the name of Pringles chips in a slogan for my business?

The slogan goes Put down the Pringles... there is more to it but I dont think you need all that to answer the question..is it legal to use the name in this way? Thankx in advance!!

  1. It is not a matter of legal or illegal. It depends on whether they would choose to sue you which they can if they have registered the name, and I am sure they are registered in every state. Might I suggest that you change your phrase to "Put down the chips." Then you'll be safe.


  2. Jane is right on. Pringles is a registered trademark and you would not be allowed to use it without their expressed, written consent, which I doubt they would be willing to provide, given how you intend to use it.

    "Put down the chips" is a viable solution that will keep you out of court.
