Can I use the same insurance card for my eye exams?

Hi, I had recently signed up through my work to enroll in a vision plan. I already have a dental plan through the same company. After the enrollment process, I was mailed a new insurance card, but it says Dental Identification Card on it. I asked my boss about this, and he told me that the card can be used for dental and vision exams. I did a little searching, and saw something about combined insurance cards/plans.

So, my question is would I be able to use the card I got (that says Dental Identification Card) for vision exams?

BTW, my insurance provider is United Health Care.

  1. To Be honest,It will take a little time to find the answer for the question of yours.have a look at the resource here for your reference .http://health-insurance.onlinebestoffer....

  2. The eye care provider should be able to check your benefits for you, just by checking with your id number.

  3. Yes, you should be fine.  But, if you want to make doubly sure, call UHC and ask them (a painful process, I know).

Or, if your Eye doctor's office is nice enough, they'll check for you.
