Question:

Can I use the speakers from my music centre on my computer.?

I've only got cheap speakers for my computer, I can't really justify spending a lot on good quality ones, but I'm not happy with the sound quality.

I've had an Aiwa music centre for about eight years and I'm very pleased with the sound from the two speakers.

Is there any way I can connect my computer to the Aiwa speakers, if so how would I be able to adjust the volume etc.

On the front of each speaker is written. Front surround, twin duct ,3 way, bass reflex speaker system. Which is meaningless to me.

On the back it says. Main speaker 6 Ohms, Surround speaker 16 Ohms.

  1. Yeah, all you have to do is to plug the speakers into your headphone slot. hope this helps

  2. Be care-full. the speakers you use for your computer are amplified, they have a mains connection to them to boost up the signal level. If you use your hifi speakers you will need an amplifier or you will hear only very little or worse you could damage your sound card on your computer.

  4. Yes. You will need to connect your  PC to your amplifier (not the speakers) into a spare channel such as Tape. You should buy a stereo jack (for the pc) to twin RCA Phono cable of the right length (Woolworths -about £4). The results will amaze you.

  5. first the speaker have to be connected to some kind of reciever/amplifier. then that reciever must have audio outputs like the red and white- right, left audio out. then you just need a cable

    like this:

then you would just plug the red-white to your reciever, and the 3.5mm plug into the headphone jack on your computer.

controlling the volume you could use the volume k**b on the reciever or your computer. the best way to control volume tho would be to turn up the reviever volume about 3/4 of the way up. and just use your computer to control the volume however you did with your old speakers.
