Question:

Can I use white Tyvek coveralls as a beekeeping suit? These Tyvek coveralls are what u use when spraying chem?

Or would I be better off buying some fron an apiary supply place? I know that these Tyvek suits wont breath and are almost water tight

  1. I wouldn't trust a Tyvek vs. mad bees. They're not made to repel a bee's stinger. They're made to protect the skin from non-penetrating things like liquids and powders.

    If you're not allergic to bees, you could give it a try but I think you'd be putting your life at risk.


  2. You could use the Tyvek coveralls if you wanted to but they are not necessary and would probably be uncomfortable.  Almost any kind of long sleeve shirt with the beekeeper's hood and gloves are protection enough.

  3. gotta concur with melissa. not thick or strong enough.

  4. It may work, but i wouldnt risk it.
