  1. No, you must have at least a wireless access point hooked up to your modem.

  2. Yeah....you can't....

  3. yea u can but dat wnt b every where in ur house.plus it illegal in som places.

  4. You can piggyback on some conveniently available signal.  You'd still use a router, just not yours.  You'd also be exposing your system to potential snooping and yourself to possible arrest (depending on local law).

  5. You can get the interent at your local Starbucks or another establishment that has it. You could steal your neighbors. Another alternative is to get a network card from Verizon or Sprint and use that to get service from a cell phone tower. I hear that costs like 50 bucks a month, not worth it in my opinion.

  6. Depending on what country you live in you can get the internet without a router if a neighbor has an open signal or if you are out somewhere and you find an open signal. I know it is legal in the USA but Illegal in the UK. You just need to buy a wireless network adapter and plug it into your usb port. I have supplied a list of wireless net work adapter  from google below :)  If you can not find a unlocked signal the only other thing I can suggest is if you are using a laptop to get an aircard so you can use your phones internet for your laptop aircards cost 50.00 or more a month depending on the service you use.
