You can view OTA broadcast shows in HD assuming you have an HDTV and an HD OTA antenna.

if you have cable I think it is possible, but you have to buy Hi-def channels and the quality will not be as good as it would be with the receiver.

Not in true HD, though there are some set top boxes available which output to TVs on higher ratios but which are not true HD
