Can I view movies stored on my hard drive on my TV with powerline adaptors?

I just learned about getting Directv on Demand with powerline adaptors from my cable modem to my DVR. Is it possible to play a movie stored on my computer hard drive on my TV once this powerline adaptor is installed? In other words, is this enough to turn my plasma TV into a computer monitor?

  1. As long as the DVR has a network jack, you will be able to do this.  Even if the DVR does not let you do that, there are other devices that will let you.  Powerline is definitely a smart choice to go with.  It is very simple to setup.

If the DVR has a network jack of some sort, then it does have some purpose to be connected to a PC.  But just in case, I gave you those links.

  2. no

you either need a video card with video out, or you need a VGA to RF modulator box.

  3. why not just rip the movie onto a DVD-RW costs about a dollar for the disk instead of buying all those cables and stuff and u can reuse the disk if its an RW (rewriteable) a couple of times or more if your careful not to damage it. Good Luck
