My puppy is 7.5 weeks old and has had one out of three V10 vaccinations. He is high energy and confident in our condo, but fearful and nervous when we leave the apartment. I think he needs more socialization. His vet recommended that I not walk him in public areas until he has had at least the second V10 vaccination, which he'll receive on Sept.9 (he's on an appropriate vaccination schedule).
There is an area around our condo that other dog owners use to relieve their dogs, and I know to avoid this area until Macho is vaccinated. But can't I at least take him to the parking garage to start exposing him to places outside of our condo? I don't want Macho to be a wimpy mutt and afraid of everything new.
Macho is currently being trained to potty on newspapers, and I'd like to retrain him to go outside as soon as possible too.
Is it irresponsible to risk exposing Macho to Parvo or is it worse to limit his exposure to the real world at an impressionable age?
