Can I wear RX goggles in American football and Rugby union?

I play gridiron(american football) and rugby union. i have poor vision, i was looking for goggles and cant find ones that say they are for rugby and gridiron.

  1. If you watch international rugby then every now and again you will see a player being assissted in replacing a contact lense. These are allowed and it might be easier than goggles.


  2. I've been following rugby since I was born (I'm 47) and I have NEVER seen anyone wearing goggles. Most footballers use contact lenses or save up and  get laser vision corrective surgery done.

  3. Now that you mention it....I don't think I have ever seen a rugby player...either union or league wearing prescription goggles. I think the fact that the head and face are exposed and there is the potential for the goggles to be stripped from the face means that most players just use contact lenses as mentioned earlier. I know that any form of eye glasses were illegal in the rugby world cup but I'm not sure if that means goggles too.

  4. My eyes suck too lol, but goggles that can be used in rugby can be used in gridiron. If you cant find any playing without seeing anyone is fun =D
