  1. If you're wearing open toed, or peep toe shoes, I wouldn't wear stockings at all. In fact, I would never wear stockings with open toed sandals. I did once, and it just didn't feel or look right. Plus I ended up with a run in the toe...so it kind of defeated the purpose.

But you should probably go ahead and wear the stockings, even though they are passe'. It's professional...and then once you get the job...no more stockings!

  2. Well, you can do anything you want really, I guess it just depends on what kind of place this is and how important this job is to you.

Once you work there you can always dress down, but personally for a job interview I would always err on the conservative side, especially for an insurance company as they tend to be very conservative.

There is nothing offensive about not wearing stockings in general, it's just that if your candidacy is a match with someone else who just happened to show up in a suit that day, they may just pick the person in the suit because they showed the good sense to overdress at the interview... catch my drift?

In the end it's up to you and your comfort level. Personally, I'd like to think that if I can just wear what I'm comfortable in at the interview and they take me for who I am, I'm working for the right people, but I work in the community sector, not for an insurance company.

Best of luck on your interview!

  3. depends how long your dress is. if its short then yes wear them if its long then dont worry about it. It also depends what job it is.

  4. yes, in fact, stocking are passe these days - no need to wear them at all unless they just keep you warmer in the cooler months or "hold things in" (that's why I wear them - hahaha) -

  5. You really should wear them, it looks much more professional.

  6. You should wear the stockings. Every professional job that I have ever had, required stockings as part of the dress code.

  7. You do not have to wear stockings.  Nowadays, that is not necessary, especially in heat.  Pantyhose/stockings were utilized for many reasons: they were supposed to smooth out the leg, cover the lady, despite showing some leg, even out the skin but sometimes still look tan,  you didn't shave, to hold your stomach in, etc.

With the revelation of natural physical beauty, as long as you shave your legs and your dress is the appropriate length, you are good to go.

  8. wear them you'lll be inside most of the time anyways

  9. Yeah you have to, it's an interview and it's not professional to go in there showing legs.  You can do that after you get the job.  Wear them for the interview and take them off afterwards.

  10. yes! also reenact that scene from "Basic Instinct"...pretend you're Sharon stone! don't worry, that job is yours honey!
