Can I wear a pad while swimming?

READ THIS!!!!

okay so im going to california and i should be having my period when im there and I really want to go swimming...i dont really want to use a tampon but maybe ill try but id rather use a pad. Do you think I could use one of those pads that dont have wings and just stick one on the bathing suit?

p.s. ive been swimming with my period at a party and i just wore shorts and put the pad on my underwear and everything was perfectly fine.

I definitely would never ever do this. What if it came unstuck and was floating in the water? That would be awful. I know you don't want to use tampons but that really is your best bet.

well you could, but the whole pad will get really big from all the absorption of water. it will also become less likely to absorb your blood as well, but that's okay. i also wore one while swimming. it just gets uncomfortable for me that's all.

ALSO: don't go in the ocean with your period. Sharks will become attracted to the scent of your blood in the water. Ppl have gotten attacked that way. :(

please DON'T.. Buy tampons.. Your blood flows back into the pool and others take that in.

I did that when I was at swim practice like 6 times! I didn't have a problem. Just get a small pad and then get a tight bathing suit, just so it wont fall out. Or if you don't have a small bathing suit, just tighten that area every once in a while.

a pad is designed to absorb liquid, if you wear it while in the water it's purpose will be defeated. It's only going to soak up the ocean/pool water and nothing else. Try using a small lit day tampon or stay out of the water or use nothing and risk the consequences.

If you wear a pair of shorts like you did last time it should be fine. just make sure you go to the bathroom and put a new one in as soon as you get out. no, blood isn't going to come gushing out like everyone says. sometimes the pressure of the water stops the bleeding for a little while too. hope i helped..have fun on your trip!
