Question:

Can I wear a white skirt to a wedding?

My neighbor is getting married. It's not the first time, his wife died last year, and he's getting remarried. It's not a big wedding or anything, and they're both older. I know that you're not supposed to wear white to a wedding out of respect for the bride. But, is it still disrespectful to wear a white skirt with a black top or something?

  1. u can, but i wouldnt!

  2. Yes

  3. Sounds perfect! Dont worry about silly rules, no one will think you're being disrespectful.

  4. you could wear it as long as you make it busy in your top black will make the white skirt so i dont think that would be good but if you had a floral like top so its not making a fuss around the white skirt

  5. White is fine as long as you don't wear all white. Unless it it is a formal event then that may not be acceptable to wear  a white skirt.

Have fun at the wedding I'm sure they will be happy to see you there and not nit pick you about your choice of clothing. Just dont wear a bridal gown. ha ha

  6. im sure u could find somthin else?

  7. if all white skirt, dont!  If there are other colors on it its slightly more acceptable.

Its always best not to at any wedding just in case!

  8. its always best to be completely white.

  10. That's fine, just don't wear all white.... or a veil. :)

  11. you shouldnt wear white, its still showing disrespect, now if the skirt was white with maybe some floral or something on it, then that would probably be ok. I would have been pissed off if anyone came to my wedding wearing white

  12. Yes sounds fine.

  13. That seems okay.

  14. Oh no, that sounds like a cute outfit. Even if the people getting married aren't re-marrying you could still wear that outfit. When they talk about wearing white to a wedding, it is more along the lines of all white.

  15. well if itz a wte pencil skirt make it look classy any way you can but if i wear you i wouldnt only and only does the bride where white if it were a wte blouse i'd say go for it. i'd refrain from wearing it thought no biggie if you do. good luck

  16. I'd say, first, look up wedding etiquette online.. but personaly, i'd say, don't go with a stark white, maybe an ivory, or an off-white

  17. well, people have different opinions, so, i'd not wear it, just in case. I'm sure you'll good in anyting!

  18. Is this the bride's first wedding?

If it is her first, then I would ditch the white and go for a more colorful look..!

If it isnt her first time, then stick with the white skirt. But i would say put a purple or blue blouse with it instead of the black. Unless the black top is totalllly adorable :]

Dont forget to add jewelry and a cute handbag [maybe a sequined clutch] and some hot shoes..you'll be ready.. heyy, maybe theyll have a hot nephew or something!

  19. that's fine. one of my friends came to my wedding and she had on a white top but a green skirt. it's fine as long as it's not an all white dress

  20. out of respect for the bride i don't think anyone should wear white under any circumstances

  21. ask them

  22. You can but I wouldn't!

  23. i dont understand why you feel the need to where a white skirt. i think itr is disrespectful, be it, on top, bottom, whatever.

out of all the colored skirts you could wear, why not let the bride have her day in white??? you sound kind of selfish if you ask me.....

  24. the like you want, you can go to this site check that, they have lots od dresses, also custom-made,you can choose the color that you want, they can custom-made.

  25. Absolutely!  I think the purpose of that etiquette "rule" is to not wear an outfit where you might be mistaken for a bride or look like you're trying to be.  White and black are very normal colors, and especially if it's just a skirt no one will even think twice about it.
