Question:

Can I wear makeup at basic training?

I know I'm probably going to get rude answers, but if you could stay away from that and actually answer my question, I'd really appreciate it. I'm going to Air Force basic in a few weeks and just wondered if I could wear makeup?

  1. I am a woman veteran. As I remember we wore make up only twice during basic.

    1. Picture day. We all got to take pictures of ourselves in a dress uniform.

    2. Graduation day

    The rest of the time we never wore make up. I don't even think we were allowed to have it in our lockers.

    Note: I think every branch is different about whether or not you can wear it on graduation day. We did in the Navy. But I went to boot camp in 1992.  We couldn't use hair gels or spays...I do remember that much because I have curly hair and my hair was a constant mess...but it was still worth it.

    You'll get to wear make up after boot camp when you go to A school (Navy) or AIT (Army) or what ever school for everyone else.

  6. don't know why you would want to...you'll be outside marching, sweating, doing pushups.... so unless you want all that running down your face, i suggest you don't even think about it. plus you probably won't even have time to put it on. and besides...who the heck do you think you're going to impress?? its not like you can talk to the males anyhow

  7. No, with all the physical training it would be fruitless to put it on, as it will come off when you start running. And you will have no time to put it on. You wake up, make your bed, and prepare yourself for PT, then you do the training. And the prepare yourself part involves: tying your boots, putting on clothes, etc. The bottom line is, its pointless.

  8. No, you are not going to be allowed to wear make up at basic training... I'm not quite sure when you think you would have time to put it on...

    I just came home from Basic.

    We weren't even allowed to wear any for Graduation :(

    You can use lotion or hair gel on your eyelashes, it works a lot like mascara and is really cute, plus it can't be taken away.

    only problem you might have with this is the fact that

    the colors might not be matching your eyes lol. It comes

    in various shades of green and brown. Oh. And you might

    have to apply it everywhere on your face.

  12. I went to Navy basic and there is no need for make up.  You will be too tired to put it on and it will get sweated off anyway.

  14. No, you are not allowed to wear make-up. This is mainly for hygien and time reasons.

    One, you won't have time to pu on your make-up, you'll be busy getting yelled at to hurry up...

    Two, you will sweat and get durty just about every day, having zero make-up on will keep your pores cleaner, and once again, give you more time to get cleaned up and ready for the next day...

    Besides, Equal Opportunity....
