Can I work as a Massage therapist in Los Angeles If I'm an international student?

I'm currently an international student in Los Angeles. I really want to study Massage Therapy in some Massage school here. However, I'm curious about if I study in massage and earn complete hours for the requirement. Can I get the massage license? because I don't have social security number. I have heard that someone get ID tax instead of ssn to pass the permit, is that right? how it work? I have no idea??
