Can I work in UK?

Hello,

I am a international student and currently study in USA.

My major is Television and Radio.

However, i really like UK.

So i am wondering, is it possible to work in UK ?

It's difficult to get a job in UK, London?

And how can I apply it ?

Please give me some advises.

A lot of British people can't get work in the Uk, whereas people coming in from other countries do - so you'd probably be ok!

well dude, like any other first world country, u can get a job easy, at least that's what All my friends who left here and r living in rich countries now say, that is a paradise for poor people and locals have no idea how blessed they r... i'm saying compared to miserable countries like mine of course(brazil) where normal wage is ~$230/month and the price of everything is at least 2-3 times higher than in U.S. or U.K bc of high taxes.

although in ur field things change a bit and i think u r already very lucky to had chance to live in U.S. so don't lose that privilege, is probably way better to work with TV over there not to say about weather.

Yes, you need work permit to get job in the UK if you are not from European community. However, there are still a number of ways to acquire work permit such as graduates from top50 MBA world wide, marriage with your partner from one of the EU community, or the work permit offer from your employer based on particular reasons that explains why they recruit you.

However, I would say it's a VERY competitive labour market so you have to have full preparation to any challenge in the future that would result in a big discouragement, disappointment or setback against you. But if you really love UK and I believe "where there is a will, there is a way."

You need a work permit whilst in the UK.  I imagine your field of work is particularly difficult to get into, as at the moment the BBC are cost cutting and laying staff off.

I do not think you will have an easy ride.  However,nothing is impossible.  Good Luck.

If you want to work legally then you will need a work permit even if you are a student, they are near impossible to get as there are more than enough people out of work , so make sure you have a place first if you know some one who can help, but if you just turn up at the airport hopping, then you could be sent home.
