The Indiana Pacers is considered the most versatile team in the NBA as they have plenty of good and young players in its roster. When the Pacers management decided to acquire Roy Hibbert from the Toronto Raptors in 2008, they knew
this young player will one day prove great advantage to the Pacers.
Roy sort of lived up to the expectations. Last year, he averaged 10.4 points, and 6.80 rebounds per game and he is only going to improve with experience and time.
The next NBA season is very important for the Pacers as they have already started its preparations. Like last season, the Pacers would love to qualify for the post season but without Hibbert’s help the Pacers might not reach the
later stages of the competition. He is very athletic and is a reliable shooting option from the floor.
Roy Hibbert, who had a very good basketball career as an amateur player, still has many years to play in the NBA. He learnt his great skills during his University days. He played at the University of Georgetown for almost four
years. Hibbert’s offensive ball play was truly developed under the guidance of Coach Dwyane Bryant. During his stay at Georgetown he was selected in All Big East Second team and All Big First team. Later in 2007, he also led his team to the Big East Conference
Championship.
Hibbert’s exceptional amateur career helped him to play in NBA when the Raptors drafted him in 2008 but soon went to the Pacers. He adjusted well in the Pacers roster and now regarded as very important player of Indiana Pacers.
Since his arrival in Pacers, he performed consistently. In his first season, he averaged 7.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game after playing total 70 games. Later in the second season, he played 81 games and averaged
11.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. Comparing his average to first two seasons, he improved and averaged 12.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in 2010-2011 season.
