  1. No, and I will tell you why.

Iran is not a country ruled by the religion Christianity. We are trying to instill a government system founded upon it as well as a government separate from church. They do not believe that there should be a distinction between the two and any sort of democracy we attempt to establish will very quickly be torn apart.

Now... If you are going completely off of fire power, then yes. The USA has enough warheads to blow up the world 15 times over, but I don't consider obliterating an entire country conquering it... I'd label it under "blowing **** up."

Technically speaking, we don't really have much of a reason to be in the middle east, as long as they believe in religion, we're just going to be watching our men die. : /

  2. what an unbelievably war mongering question.  Rather than asking this type of question why not ask, what can we do to resolve the situations that are arising.  No wonder people around the world dont like us

  3. Have people forgotten that Russia said it would back Iran. You are looking at WWIII. China may also back Iran. This is not a war I want.

  4. Not in the same way b/c Iran is a much more stable country than Iraq was when we kicked in the door. It would be more tactical through the air with a lot more bomb dropping and a lot more tension, and a lot more of a chance to get hit my some fire power. However, I do believe that if we really wanted to drop the hammer on Iran we could, but it's still a touchy and more political problem b/c they aren't guilty of doing the things Iraq did. Just taking them out would create problems with the U.N. and we don't really want that. However I don't forsee it happening as long as the tensions with Israel and Iran don't get any worse, and actually lessen. If that happens we don't have a problem, and won't b/c fact is we won't get blind sided again like we did with Iraq. we are too awake, too aware, too conscious, and have too much potential to take that country down hard. We don't want it to happen b/c you lose lives, but I really believe we are capable of taking down any country in days, but the after effect is the porblem b/c then you talk about growing tensions with the UN, and some other countries like Russia and North Korea, and you have to look at the fact that our policy is if we take you over we build you back up, something we are not financially ready for as a military right now.

FYI for old boy up top, the Soviet Union was strapped buddy, but it wouldn't have been worth it b/c if they hurt us they were going to get hurt right back. It would have been a huge mess for both countries, the problem was we didn't want to fire first b/c we really didn't want war b/c we knew the Soviet Union was very very capapble. Probably more capapble than any other country is right now, as least considering how close we were to really going at it, in fact just minutes from launching on both sides.

And for old man right below me, talk what you know. We have a lot of reason to be over there, and 90% of the troops back that up. I know, I am military. We need to be there b/c if we are not we become much more vulnerable to bad things happening to us if we are not securing the country.

  5. Yes it could be. Should it be??? NO! If they get too out of hand and become actually dangerous, they SHOULD be bombed into oblivion and simply left that way.

  6. Absolutely, will a bunch of us die, yes, but we would stomp Iran's guts out.  It would be over in a hurry, don't buy that c**p that they have thousands of missiles, they probably launched half what they have today.  This is the same trick the Soviets always pulled with their parades when the missiles were empty, and had no potential to cause any damage.  It's called BS, and it's fooling no one.  If these people don't get their act together the world is going to jump up and down on their head.

  7. Maybe as the Persians have wanted to fight us since we been in Iraq..Israel is going to thump them first..then we will have Israel's back and knock the heck out of the Persian Empire and then Pakistan?

  8. The M1 Abrams tank is for real.  With a couple hundred of those we could wipe out an entire nation that has 10-20 thousand soviet tanks.  The same thing would have happened to the soviets - tank wise.  The air war would have been more costly.

Our current Modis Operandi is to attack strategic points and airfields with ballistic missiles.  You don't have to hit the planes,  just one good bomb in the middle of the runway and nothing can land or take off.  Then the air war, where all secondary and other targets get hit.

The problem is:  today we have some misconception that we can do a war and not kill many civilians.  You can't win a war without killing the civilians.  To win a war, you must pound your opponent into submission until they beg you to stop, then you pound them some more.  You must beat their spirit to fight.

This is the biggest mistake both Bush's made:  They listened to C. Powell and tried to be nice.  I'm not trying to put down Powell.  I just think he was trying to win the Vietnam war while fighting the Iraq war.  Be nice and win over the populace is not a strategy.

In the first Iraq war we stopped too soon.  In the second, we told whole Iraq Army divisions to go home and we would let them live.  They left the battlefield unbeaten, with some fight left in them.  We have had to fight them in a guerrilla war ever since then.

The answer is yes we could conquer Iran.  How hard we crush them would determine the final outcome.

  9. Of course not . Iran is not that easy as it was in the late 70s. Iran has powerful rockets that can reach Israel easily . Also if Iran stops it's oil products , then the oil can reach about $200 which means that everything ( including weapons ) is going to become d**n expensive , which means that the US and Israel will not be able to continue the war . But Iran will not stop the war here , Iran will simply strike Israel and the American forces in the Persian Gulf , in Iraq and everywhere in the GCC states . Also Iran's people are ready to die any moment ... The question remains : Is the US' administration still going to attack Iran ? As for me , I think yes , very soon , because president Bush is going to leave the office next year and there is nothing for him to worry about .

  10. What exactly does this question have to do with immigration?

  11. Yes... but not without consequences.  I live across the gulf from Iran in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.  We are well within striking distance of Iran and surely one of the targets.

Iran would try to hit Israel, but that attack would be a failure... they would successfully strike several key oil sites in Saudi Arabia and maybe other GCC countries.  They would also shut down the straight of Hormuz.  This would shut down most of the world's oil, but would not effect most of the supply to the US (we get our oil from Canada).

The US already has a huge presence in the region and would be able to have a very successful air campaign within days.  Well beyond half of Iran's military assets could be wiped out within a week.  A ground war in Iran could be very similar to what we saw in 1991 in Iraq.  The key is what would come next - an occupation in the style of modern day Iraq would look the similar to what we are seeing in Iraq.  If we just abandoned them after their defeat, it would be similarly difficult.  I don't know if there is an opposition party to Ahmadinajad that we could prop up, but finding local (strong) leadership is key.

  12. no of course not iran has a lot  of thing that iraq didnt had and that's obvious that war will be hard and need a lot of money for usa and threre is no war .

  13. yes The US can defeat Iran but international pressure will not allow it to. The ultimate war is going to be between Muslims & Christains.

  14. Are you serious? Or just out of your mind? The last thing anyone wants to do is try to invade Iran. I can't see why diplomacy seems such a hard thing for some *Presidents*. You did it in North Korea...oh wait a second, they have no oil...and no Muslims!

Iran is not Iraq. And Iran has far more weapons capability. Not to mention that Iran has a conscription program, which (when coupled with their capability to produce vast amounts of arms) means that the majority of the population can be mobilised. I wouldn't want to stick around and watch for the outcome if Israel and the US start sticking their already unwanted noses in more International politics that they don't understand. It's scary enough that most US citizens don't know where the UK is, and even scarier that their current leader seems to have that same amount of intelligence. Would be nice to see if he could place Laos, or Luxembourg on a world map.

Well, I understand that a rant won't help the situation between US and Iran. But neither will these questions. And the fact that these questions appear means that people entertain the idea of war...which is simply stupid.
