Can Jackie Chan be considered as Bruce Lee's successor?

I mean in the sense of number-one Chinese movie star. Bruce was the number one Chinese martial arts movie star. So, after his death, can Jackie Chan be considered as his successor?

Dude, that's a tough question.  Bruce Lee was the most awesome.

But in light of the facts that today, there is no-one but Jackie Chan "in his shoes", I have to say Yes, Jackie rocks.

Now, how can I run sideways on walls like Jackie Chan does?  That is the coolest.

In a book I have he is interviewed and he said when Bruce Lee died, people were trying to find someone to take is place. Jackie said ' I never wanted to be the next Bruce Lee, I wanted to be the first Jackie Chan'. I think from that he originally was given roles to be the next Lee but he obviously didnt want to live in the shadow of Lee. I dont think Chan has taken a different route (comedy) to be different from Lee, he just uses it more as he was train as a performer from a young age in the chinese opera school. Lee used comedy(way of the dragon in the airport) but not to the same extent.

In that respect, yes, I'd say so. Originally, the movie producers over there wanted to make him be the next Bruce Lee in every way, but Jackie didn't feel he'd be able to live up to Bruce's legend, so he decided to go the comedy route.

Jackie Chan is quite amazing but  Jet Li doesn't do to bad himself.  Jackie Chan has been around alot longer and he does perform his own stunts which is amazing. Alot of his fighting is done in  defence/ which makes him extremely  fun to watch.   I would say  Jackie Chan  would be considered  next in line for #1, he certainly has made  more  movies than Jet Li.
