Can Jammed Camera lenses be repaired?

I have a kodak easyshare c875 digital camera and the lens is jammed (after dropping). it turns on, makes a small clicking noise then turns off.

  4. If it comes down to it and you're just going to throw it out anyways you can try to open it up and fix it yourself. I did this with my old HP camera and managed to fix it. It was a little larger than cameras these days though and so left more room for error. If you do open it up I suggest you write down all the steps of taking it apart so you can put it back together again.

Sorry to hear about your camera.  I did the same thing to a Nikon a while back and tried several repair places.  Most said it was not repairable but a couple said it COULD be repaired but that the repair would cost more than a new camera.  The replacement camera I bought cost less than the excess on my insurance (so I didn't claim), had more functionality than the old one, and cost about a seventh of the price of the old one.  It seems criminal to throw away a camera that is 90% still good but the economics just don't justify repair.  Sorry.
