  2. Sure, they have a J.I.Jane in marine corps....

  3. It "can" however naming a son "Jane" may cause him some hassle throughout his lifetime.  Jane is the feminine equivalent of John.  You might consider "Jan" which is okay for both and has the same meaning" "God has been gracious."
