Can Juveniles in the state of texas legally shoot a gun?

I'm 15 years old and my parents are divorced. I live with my mom. I would like to know:

A.) can i legally Fire a gun at an intruder? (ex. Castle law includes house automobile and workplace)

B.) can i legally purchase a gun for myself (unlicenced or licecned, no matter what kind; rile or handgun)

i have never committed any type of documented offence or crime.

  1. A) Yes, you have the right to defend yourself.

    B) No, you cannot legally purchase any type of firearm as a minor.  You cannot possess any type of firearm without the written permission of your mother AND are under the supervision of an adult.


  2. In TX, you can legally fire a gun, however your access to a gun is going to get your parent a fine for allowing a juvenile access unless they are home, ie: supervising you.

    Juveniles may fire long guns and handguns while under the supervision of an adult guardian.

    No, you must be 18 to purchase a long gun and 21 to purchase a handgun in TX.
