Yes. He has a history of awesome power and I think he will be a good pick up for Chicago.

That's a hard one. He's not having a great, or even good, season. The Sox have a power hitter in Jim Thome who also bats left handed. There is a logger-jam at first and at DH with Griffey added to the mix. Unless they do something else, it's hard to see a big improvement. I suppose if the Sox let Konerko go there might be an improvement.

How can he help??? Griffey is on the decline! He is nearly 40 years old, and there really isn't a spot he can play. He has not had a good season since 2005, and I don't expect him to get better, because of his age. He is only giving the Sox the need to pay him.

Despite his "off" season, I think he can. Though I personally feel Sox are over rated, but he truly can help them out. In fact Ken isnt a Manny and doesnt verbally his disinterest in his team and what not. Instead he just tries to go out each day and be respectful towards his team and mates and do what he can. Though deep down I think he feels that he has been loyal to the club all these years, and he yearns to be with a contender and knows it wont happen in Cincy. He just wont voice his deep feelings, and if this trade goes through, or any trade of him to a contender, watch his numbers soar.

The Sox more than likely will use him in a DH spot. He brings a sense of being a Vet and I think that it was a good show of sportsmanship on the part of the REDS knowing that they won't be able to do anything in the next few seasons, and at least putting JR in a team that has a shot at the Playoffs.

i think he can but not a lot. he' ll definetly hit more homers but the sox needed pitchin n defense cuz thats what wins championships.

hopefully they can pick up another pitcher.

yea they will move swish to first stop using paully and put ken out in center it will be good pauly has been sucking

If they make more moves, then Yes.  I am not sure I want to see JR in center though, hopefully he will be a DH or corner OF with Dye going to first.

--And if he goes DH, does that mean Thome is at first???  More moves need to be made in my opinion.

Absolutely not! His skills have gone down tremendously and he is a cancer in the clubhouse!
