Can Kimbo Slice defeat Forrest Griffin or Chuck Liddell?

Question

I saw Kimbo Slice fight James Thompson on MMA's network TV debut on CBS (May 31, 2008). With all due respects to Mr. Slice, but Thompson made him look like an amateur on several moments in that fight.

As a matter of fact, if not for Thompson's freakish ear popping like a pinata, who knows what could've happened?

I mean, if not for his ear he might have upset Slice. Why would Thompson even go in the ring with his ear looking like that?

Kimbo Slice has got a lot of strength and a big heart, no doubt about that. But it looks like he still needs more training on how to deal with opponents in the octagon and on the mat.

Forrest Griffin has trained all of his life in fighting in the ring. As we have seen in previous fights, Griffin has the skill, knowledge, and determination to battle with anyone inside the octagon.

So, do you think that Kimbo Slice right now has the skill necessary to out match someone like Forrest Griffin or the other experience cage fighters?

h**l no. Slice has no skills and no stamina.

I  hate to burst anyone's bubble, but Elite XC is a class  below the UFC at this point in time.  Anyone from the UFC could beat anyone from  Elite XC.

As for Liddell or Griffin  versus Kimbo, they are different weight classes.  Kimbo fights 265, whereas Liddell & Griffin both fight 205.  Even so, I think either Liddell or Griffin could beat Kimbo if they  could come up with some type of non-weight-class exhibition bout.  Kimbo just doen't have enough all around MMA skills.  The fights would definitely be interesting, though, because all 3 of these fighters are "brawlers".  Kimbo would have a  better chance against Liddell/Griffin rather than someone like  Randy Couture.  The only way Kimbo can really win is if his opponent is willing to stand and trade punches.  Any experienced MMA grappler will eat Kimbo alive.

Kimbum couldent beat any of the top 10 hw's in the UFC,,,, xc put her in da cage with a scrub who was 2-5 in his last 7 fights,,

the fans aint the ones sayn Kimbums the best,,,his handellers and xc are,,,he aint fought no one and duzint deserve the credit he's getn

kimbo is an amateur he stands no chance against griffin or liddell. kimbo is no where near the caliber of those guys. look at all the street fight videos on the web of kids and thugs fighting, swinging like 2nd graders hoping for a lucky punch. those are the kind of fighters he goes up against in his videos so of course he looks like a great fighter, but he's not, he's a good fighter, but not great. liddell and griffin are great fighters, well liddell is.......

I'm a mma fan, no favorite fighters so don't think i worship any of those guys. just speak it like it is

No, fact is Kimbo fought some Irish cop from Boston and lost. That video is on youtube. The Dude beat Kimbo. Made him quit. This inspired the UFC to give Gannon a shot at fighting in the UFC. Gannon (the guy who beat Kimbo in the youtube vid) was utterly destroyed in the very first round by a below average UFC fighter. James Thompson was served to Kimbo as mere cannon fodder. However, Kimbo's ground game is so poor that Thompson (who is not known as a grappler in the MMA world) dominated Slice.

We all seen Kimbo exposed in this fight.  He doesn't have enough experience on the ground and he have probably securing a submission hold.  

He is very very inexperienced right now.  He has a ton of power and allot of heart but he needs more training and more experience.  This is no different than any other new fighter to MMA.

He won't be able to beat Griffin.

He will only beat Liddell if LIddell tries to box him.  If Liddell uses kicks or grappling, then Liddell would win.

Man there's so much to say about that fight, however it's hard not to discuss that giant baseball sized ear. Even the comentators said it looked like an Alien life form.

It's unfortunate that the fight ended the way it did with the ear popping, but regardless of kimbos win I think everyone is looking at him much differently now. He needs to fight a well known valid fighter to earn the respect he's looking for.

Truth is that he could get lucky and knock Chuck/Forrest out with a punch to the chin, but I definitely would not be putting any money on Kimbo Slice.

He's a C-level fighter at best.
