  1. he will keep it up

  2. Hey Smack, I think that he definitely can but going back to points racing might be a little tough for him (he is just going for wins right now).  He seems to push things to the edge, no matter where he is in the standings.  I just have to wonder that if he is in the heat of the moment during a chase race, will he be able to look at the big picture or get wrapped up in the moment?   Whether it's racing somebody really hard or maybe trying to exact revenge on a driver he thinks wronged him somehow.  If he learns to manage his races a little better he could win multiple championships.  I'm not totally convinced he's quite there yet but his driving this year has been absolutely spectacular.  He sure makes races fun to watch, like him or not.  It will be fun to see how it plays out and I cannot wait for the chase to start!

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  3. Each time a champion is named, he is the first to say that everything had to fall in place for them and how lucky they were.  Kyle is on a roll and I don't see anyone catching him.  His confidence is too high though I would like to see a Chevy win it and not Toyota.

  4. Yeah I think so.

Its going to be can he finish above Carl Edwards, because thats who hes going to be racing for the top spot.  Dont see any other driver being able to keep up with those two.

One bad race from either team will change everything and can let one run away with it or let a sleeper team move into the top spot.

  5. Kyle will win 5 championships before Jr wins 1

  6. I think it will fade.  He runs too hard too long and he will make some mistakes.  He is lucky that he hasn't gotten injured of hurt anyone else.

  7. it will fade..........i hope

  8. He's starting to fade.

  9. Godsmack,  I hope it comes down, to the final lap at Homestead !!

That's what they need bro!  That would help this COT look a lil better

  10. Smack, I want it to go down to the last lap coming to the checkers and the champion for 2008 is?  Yep we all are gonna have to wait. It would be so cool to see it come down to 4 drivers all within a few points of each for the win, why not have a 4 driver rivalry, that might make the chase interesting. We saw what happened to Jeff Gordons point lead last yr, same thing could happen to Rowdy as well, all I'm going to say is man he is gonna need a lot of bad luck, in order to loose the championship. and oh yes Snake I like your new outfit!.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  11. He did good in the chase last year. Despite some of the things I've read about him "crashing out" that's just not true.

I think he'll be okay, kudos to Steve Addington, he keeps Kyle focused on the big picture.

Not saying he's going to win it all just yet, I'm not the type to count my chickens before they hatch, but I do think he's going to be fine in the chase.

  12. I'm hoping it will fade away and lose but anything can happen this season.

  13. Seems people were saying his second win was a fluke and wasn't going to last.  I don't think he will fade away and lose.   I am hoping for a Championship this year and it looks pretty darn good.  That being said SO much can happen between now and then that I am not counting OUT or ON ANYTHING.

  14. kyle is not going to fade away anytime soon he doing a great job getting the attention of many drivers that he is a contender to win the championship.

  15. Well I think he is going to have a few bad races.   I dont think he will win the championship.  He will probably finish inthe top 5 though.  When it has came down to the championship  he seems to falter a little.   But now that he has a new team  and car,  Who knows.

  16. Im not sure about Busch lacking much performance for the chase...But I definataly think that more and more drivers are going to come closer to performing as good as Kyle...Such as Carl, Jimmie, Gordon, and maybe someone else. Go Stewart and Lagano!

  17. He will win the championship!

  18. I personally hope he fades but if he doesn't then good for his fans, then we'll have a hundred questions from them a day saying "looks like jr. lost the championship again"

  19. I think he will be there fighting for it until the very end!

  20. I would love to see him win!!

to bad its with toyota stickers.

  21. i dunno - it's hard to say what is meant by consistent. he's gone two or three weeks with bad finishes (when "luck didn't fall his way") followed by a couple of wins. now he and carl together have won seven of the last nine races - four for kyle and three for carl (and one each for kurt busch at loudon and jimmie johnson at indy - both races being "oddities" of sorts). over the past four races only once has either of them finished outside of the top two (carl finished ninth at the glen).

i think people have questioned his ability to continue winning and/or simply doing so well (second places are still pretty d**n good) all year and i hope they keep doing so... it seems to egg the boy on. and the other drivers seem to do the same - after jimmie and jeff made the comments about them being the favorites as they have gone through the chase pressure before and that he was in a slump, since then he's shown them what a slump is.

and if you've watched and listened carefully, he has gone out of his way here and there to let his detractors on the track know that he's sending a message. a couple of times during the "slump" comments, he's slid right up in front of jimmie johnson and/or pulled one of jimmie's old tricks out of the bag and used it against him. now the whole "kyle and carl show" thing has incited him, and i'd bet dollars to donuts that for that one tiny portion of the race that was exciting last night, after kyle came out of the pits and kyle and carl were side by side behind steven wallace, they exchanged more than just glances before kyle pulled away leaving carl in the dust.

but i digress... i think that if people keep questioning him, he'll definitely keep rising to the occasion. and even if they stop questioning his talent, he's still got something to prove - he's still on a mission. i hope his luck doesn't run out, as i'm pretty sure his talent isn't going to any time soon - and luck and talent are THE ingredients for a championship.
